Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen was born on April 3, 1982.

As a high school football player in Los Gatos, California, Allen was not a highly sought recruit. He went on to play college football at Idaho State University. From there, he was drafted into the NFL in the fourth round by the Kansas City Chiefs.

At the professional level, Allen blossomed into one of the best defensive ends in the league. He recorded double-digit sack totals in eight seasons with the Chiefs and Vikings. His best year came in 2011, when he tallied 22 sacks in a single season.

In 2014, Allen left the Vikings and signed with the Chicago Bears, a division rival. Despite this switch, Allen remains a fan favorite in Minnesota and will go down as one of the best defensive lineman of his generation.
