Dwyane Wade, LeBron James

On Tuesday afternoon, the Cleveland Cavaliers' Twitter and Instagram accounts followed some friends of the family. The team pulled the trigger on Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union's social media handles.

Wade is also now following the Cavs on both social media platforms.

Wade, who has played with the Heat for all 13 of his NBA seasons -- four with LeBron James -- is yet to sign a contract for 2016-17. With Kevin Durant's decision to join the Warriors, the Cavs may be in the market to bolster their star power.

This may be much ado about nothing, but Twitter has proved insightful before. Andrew Bogut deleted all mentions of the Warriors from his Twitter account 15 minutes before Durant's decision went public. The Warriors needed to open up cap space to sign Durant, and Bogut ended up being the moving piece (he is reportedly being traded to Dallas).

Due to Cleveland's salary cap restraints, Wade would likely earn less than $5 million with the Cavaliers in 2016-17 if he chose to reunite with James. The Heat have offered Wade a two-year, $40 million contract.

James unfollowed the Cavs' Twitter account back in March, leading many to speculate The King was considering a second departure from Cleveland. Four months later, James has re-followed the Cavs' Twitter, and he ended Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought in June. James is not going anywhere.

Wade, on the other hand…time will tell.

Note: James, Wade and Chris Paul have been on vacation in Europe for the past week.
