Sometimes when you haven't seen an iconic film from beginning to end in 20 years, it's the small stuff that makes a fresh impression. Take "Space Jam" for example. Would you believe that Wayne Knight -- aka Newman from "Seinfeld" -- got second billing behind only Michael Jordan?

Space Jam Turns 20

It's chopping up a detail like this that is all part of the nostalgia as "Space Jam" officially turns 20 on November 15.

Nike is celebrating the occasion with a global campaign pegged around two retro Air Jordans as seen in the 1996 classic plus a new cut that serves as an homage.

The Air Jordan IX and XI are the editions immortalized in the movie. The XXXI is a nod to the color scheme and sensibility of the XI while integrating more recent technology such as a Flyweave upper.

Jordan Brand's vice president/creative director David Creech broke it all down for us during a special screening on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. Check out the video above for some sights and sounds of the event along with Creech's design insight.

The IX and XXXI are scheduled for release on December 3. The XI will be available December 10 at Jordan.com and select Jordan retailers.
